The Apple logo is already up on the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco as the century-old arena prepares for the World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2016. There will be over 6,000 attendees, packing the venue to near full capacity.
It is always premature, and a bit foolish, to predict what Apple will launch at any of its events. But the (Mac) rumour mill is rife with reports that the event will focus a lot on Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant. While some suggest a desktop version of Siri, others think Cupertino will finally allow third-party developers access to Siri.
Both seem like strong possibilities: the former because of Microsoft’s Cortana, while the latter could be Apple’s way of offering an alternative to bots, which some tech giants in Silicon Valley consider the future.
In all likelihood, there will be a new version of iOS and MacOS announced at the event. But whether we will see new Mac devices is anybody’s guess at the moment.

However, it is pretty much clear there will be a lot of focus on software. So a new version of Apple Music and Watch OS also cannot be ruled out.
Anyway, it is best to wait a few hours for Apple CEO Tim Cook and others to take to the stage at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
We will be there with live updates and commentary. Stay tuned here.
